About the Giclee Prints?
The prints in this gallery are giclee (pronounced gee-clay) prints of some of Madeliene's most popular paintings. Most of the original paintings have been sold and are being enjoyed by collectors in over thirty countries.
A fine art giclee is the closest to the original paintings that you can get. The process begins with the original painting being digitally scanned.
To produce the archival print, an ultra high resolution fine art printer sprays archival inks on 100% canvas. Two coatings are then applied: the first is a UV and scratch resistant protective veneer; the second is a specifically formulated waterproof varnish that brings out the colors.
The resulting archival giclee print is superior in quality to a serigraph or a lithograph. It will last in excess of one hundred years without a noticeable shift in color integrity.
Each print is stretched on 1-1/2 inch stretcher bars; all four outside edges are black. Additionally, each print is wired and ready to hang.
Each giclee print is reviewed and signed by the artist. The edition of each print is limited to twenty five; no more limited edition prints will be produced after the original edition is sold.
